Cherish is the word I use to describe
All the feeling that I have hiding here for you inside
You don’t know how many times I’ve wished that I had told you
You don’t know how many times I’ve wished that I could hold you
You don’t know how many times I’ve wished that I could
Mold you into someone who could
Cherish me as much as I cherish you

And I do cherish you
And I do cherish you

Cherish is the word

(The Association)

The third vow couples often take is the one to cherish each other.  Living this vow every day appears in the small actions you make and will protect your marriage from the onslaught of routine.

Miriam-Webster defines cherish as:  1a : to hold dear : feel or show affection for <cherished her friends> b : to keep or cultivate with care and affection : nurture <cherishes his marriage>

Cherish

When you cherish your partner, you let them know every day that you care and are glad to have them in your life.  You take the time to be kind and thoughtful.  You do things for your partner just because it would ease their burden or make them feel good.

You do not take your partner for granted.  You still take the time to be interested in what is going on in your partner’s life.

You demonstrate admiration and respect for their presence in your life.  You show appreciation for the things your partner does even though they have agreed to do them.  It’s saying “Thank you” and meaning it.

Cherishing means you make every effort to meet your partner’s needs.  One of the first thoughts you have each day is, “How will I make my partner feel loved today?”

You constantly evaluate your performance in the marriage from your partner’s viewpoint.  If your partner feels cherished they will be a responsive, loving mate.

How do you make your partner feel cherished?  What special ways do you feel cherished in your relationship?  How would honoring this vow make your marriage better?
